Chick-a-Biddy

Restaurant Brand Identity

Chick-a-Biddy, Farm Fresh Chicken & Sides, located in Atlanta, is a southern-style chicken restaurant with a fresh twist. The restaurant features regional, all-natural and pastured poultry. The overall concept is never pretentious, always delicious which is exactly what we wanted their identity to reflect. Brand components consisted of; naming, logo system, brand identity, menus, interior/exterior signage and apparel.

“Never pretentious, always delicious: The concept for Chick-a-Biddy, Farm Fresh Chicken shows in their well-crafted branding and menus. Chunky slab-serif headlines overlay illustrations in a farm-fresh color palette to create a comfortable down-home feeling.”
Duncan Robertson, Art of the Menu/UnderConsideration

Chick-a-Biddy is a concept that needed to appeal to a very large demographic. From the get-go, our client wanted the experience to have southern influences with a modern and fun approach. These attributes guided our choices as we lined the walls with bright color graphics, fun language scattered throughout and retro-inspired signage that complemented the modern diner vibe of the architecture.

“When Chick-a-Biddy was in development, I had several conversations about the ideas behind the brand with Carpenter Collective. When we finally met to review design concepts, it was not a matter of which one I liked but a matter of deciding which one I liked least. They were all so great! Their involvement extended throughout the interior design process, and was key in our overall success.”
Shaun Doty, chef and owner of Chick-a-Biddy

We collaborated with The Johnson Studio Architecture on the evolution of the Chick-a-Biddy interior space. In the end, we all felt the combination of the modern materials and build out paired well with the approachable and whimsical identity.
